I've Started My Substack
Substackはじめました
I’ve started a Substack. The name may not be familiar to a lot of you yet. So in this first post, I want to tell you what Substack is, and what it offers, to those of you reading this.
So what is Substack?
Put simply, it’s a place where what I write gets delivered straight to your inbox.
Instagram matters to me too. But over there, no matter what I post, the algorithm decides whether it reaches you. I put something out, and it just drifts away.
Substack is different. If you sign up with your email address, what I write goes directly to you. No algorithm, no ads, nobody in between.
Which means this is a one-to-one space ; just you and me.
Why I made this
There are more and more things I can’t say in a few short lines.
My thoughts on DJing and making music. Stories about the incredible DJs and musicians I’ve met along the way. Food I want to share with you — tacos and tequila above all. The projects I have in mind, an
d the small things I notice in daily life, or somewhere in the middle of a trip.
None of these fit into a caption. So I wanted a place where I could actually write them out.
What I’ll write about here
MUSIC — DJing and music production, plus mixes and playlists
FOOD — Tacos and everything around them: my own restaurant, and food I want to put you on to
BEAUTY — The skincare brand I’m building right now
LIFE — Small things I discover through travel and everyday life
They’re separated into categories, but in my mind it’s all connected. I don’t separate my worlds. I integrate them. That’s how I’ve always worked.

突然ですが、Substackを始めました。まだ皆さんには馴染みのない名前かもしれません。今回の投稿では、Substackがどんなもので、これを読んでくれている皆さんにどんな価値を届けられるのかを、お話しさせてください。
Substackって何？
ひとことで言うと、書いたものがメールで届く場所です。
Instagramも私にとっては大事な場所。でもあそこは、私が何を書いても、届くかどうかはアルゴリズムが決めているんですよね。せっかく書いても、流れていってしまう。
Substackは違います。皆さんがメールアドレスを登録してくれたら、私の書いたものは、まっすぐ受信箱に届く。アルゴリズムも、広告も、間に誰もいません。
つまりここは、私と皆さんの、一対一の場所なんです。
なぜここを作ったのか
短い言葉では伝えきれないことが、だんだん増えてきました。
DJや楽曲制作に関する自分の思い。いままでに出会ってきた素晴らしいDJやミュージシャンとのストーリー。タコスやテキーラを中心に、私がおすすめしたい食べ物のお話。いま手掛けているスキンケアブランドを、なぜ作ろうと思ったのか。日々の生活や旅の途中で気づいた、小さなこと。
どれも、数行では終わらない話です。だからこそ、ちゃんと書ける場所がほしかった。

FOOD — タコスとその周辺。自分のお店のこと、皆さんに紹介したい食べ物のことなど
BEAUTY — いま手掛けているスキンケアブランドのお話
LIFE — 旅行や日々の生活の中で出会って、気づいた様々なお話
ジャンルで分けてはいますが、私の中では全部つながっています。世界を切り分けない、統合する。それが私のやり方です。
