A New Chapter Begins

I still can’t believe I’m writing this…

I officially received my U.S. Artist Visa.

For those who don’t know, this visa isn’t just a piece of paper. It represents years of work, proof, and a story you have built through your craft.

When I first started DJing, I never imagined it would take me around the world. I never imagined that the countless nights carrying equipment, playing small rooms, connecting with strangers through music, and choosing this path over and over again would one day become my foundation.

It feels like permission to enter a new chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, booked me, danced with me, believed in me, and reminded me that every small step mattered.

This might sound strange coming from someone who has been a DJ for so long…

But I avoided making my own music for the longest time.

My whole career has been built around music.

Finding songs.
Connecting sounds.
Understanding what moves people.
Creating moments on dance floors around the world.

As DJs, our job is to bring other people’s music to life.

And honestly, I loved that.

I loved discovering artists, telling stories through their songs, and creating an experience where people could feel something.

So for a long time, I never questioned it.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something.

I had spent years expressing myself through other people’s creations…

but I never gave myself permission to ask:

“What do I want to create?”

Maybe I was scared.

Maybe I thought the music world was already filled with so many talented artists, and there wasn’t space for one more.

Maybe it was easier to support someone else’s vision than to face my own.

But the feeling never disappeared.

So I decided to finally start.

Not because I suddenly have all the answers.

Not because I know exactly what I’m doing.

But because I want to know what happens when I stop avoiding the thing that has been quietly calling me.

I’m documenting this journey from zero.

The mistakes.
The learning.
The uncomfortable moments.
The small wins.

Everything.

Because creating something new isn’t only about the final result.

It’s about becoming the person who was brave enough to begin.

音楽を作ることから逃げてきたDJ

20年近くDJをしている人間が言うと、不思議に聞こえるかもしれません。

でも私は、ずっと自分の音楽を作ることを避けてきました。

私の人生は、ずっと音楽と共にありました。

曲を探すこと。
音と音を繋げること。
人の心が動く瞬間を感じること。
世界中のダンスフロアで特別な時間を作ること。

DJという仕事は、誰かが作った音楽に新しい命を吹き込む仕事でもあります。

そして私は、本当にその仕事が大好きでした。

素晴らしいアーティストを発見して、
その人たちの音楽を通して物語を伝えて、
そこにいる人たちと感情を共有する。

だから長い間、疑問に思うことはありませんでした。

でも、ある時ふと思いました。

私はずっと誰かの作品を通して自分を表現してきたけれど……

「自分自身は何を作りたいんだろう？」

という質問を、自分にしてこなかったことに。

もしかしたら怖かったのかもしれません。

世の中にはすでに才能のあるアーティストがたくさんいて、今さら自分が入る場所なんてないと思っていたのかもしれません。

自分の作品と向き合うより、誰かの夢やビジョンをサポートする方が安心だったのかもしれません。

でも、その気持ちは消えませんでした。

だから、やっと始めることにしました。

全部分かっているからではありません。

自信満々だからでもありません。

ただ、ずっと心のどこかにあった「やってみたい」という気持ちから、もう逃げるのをやめたいと思ったから。

ここから、その過程を記録していきます。

ゼロから音楽を作る旅。

失敗も。
学びも。
恥ずかしい瞬間も。
小さな成長も。

全部。

何かを作るということは、完成した作品だけの話ではないと思います。

それを作れる自分になっていく過程そのものにも意味がある。

I had the pleasure of DJing at the invite-only PRADA event at Miyashita Park ✨

Shopping with a cocktail in hand, surrounded by holiday music and a luxurious atmosphere.

It was such a beautiful way to enjoy the event with a touch of PRADA.

宮下パークで行われたの招待制イベントにてDJさせていただきました✨

音楽と、美味しいカクテルを片手に楽しむショッピング。
おかげさまで、ラグジュアリーなタッチでDJさせてもらいました。

But seeing how many of you are rooting for me really reminded me how wrong that thought was. What surprised me the most is hearing that some of you felt inspired to step out of your comfort zone and finally try something you’ve always wanted to do.

And honestly… that makes me just as excited as making the music itself because I feel like I’m not in this by myself.

Let’s call this Stage Zero.

正直、みんなから届いたDMやメッセージの数に本当に驚いています。誰も気にしてないと思ってた。

でも、こんなにたくさんの人が応援してくれていることを知って、その考えがどれだけ間違っていたか気付かされました。

そして何より嬉しかったのは、私のこの挑戦を見て「自分もずっとやりたかったことに挑戦してみようと思った」と言ってくれた人がいたことです。感動！！そして心強い！一人で歩いているんじゃないって感じられるから。

みんなでステージゼロから始めよーう！（なんだっけあの曲、Zeroから歩き出そおーって二人組😂）

SARASA was honored to serve as the music director for “THE NIKKA WHISKY TOKYO in Cannes,” a special pop-up experience by NIKKA WHISKY held during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France.

Bringing Tokyo’s cocktail culture to the South of France, the pop-up showcased innovative creations in collaboration with leading bars, offering guests from around the world a unique experience where Japanese whisky, cocktails, and music came together.

Through carefully curated sounds, SARASA helped shape the atmosphere of this special celebration of Japanese creativity on the global stage.

フランス・カンヌで開催された世界最大級のクリエイティブフェスティバル「Cannes Lions 国際クリエイティビティ・フェスティバル」にて展開された、NIKKA WHISKYによる期間限定ポップアップ「THE NIKKA WHISKY TOKYO in Cannes」の音楽ディレクションをSARASAが手がけました。

東京で話題を集めるカクテルカルチャーをカンヌへ届ける特別な空間で、世界中から訪れるクリエイターやゲストに向けた音楽演出をプロデュース。

日本のウイスキー、カクテル、音楽が交差する特別な体験を彩りました。

Thank you for supporting my DJ career all these years. Because of you, I’ve been able to make a living doing what I love and build things I’m incredibly proud of.

Then I went to Mexico to DJ... and fell in love with tacos. What started as a DJ gig completely changed the direction of my life. (I guess what happens when you fall in love) I opened a restaurant and spent the last nine years making sure my staff and customers were happy.

Just like DJing, I loved creating something that brought people together. But once again, I found myself giving everything to something outside of me😂 Eventually, I burned out.

That’s when I realized this wasn’t just about music or restaurants.

For years, I’d been building things for other people to enjoy, solving other people’s problems, and helping bring other people’s visions to life.

Somewhere along the way, I forgot to ask myself what I wanted to create.

そしてDJの仕事でメキシコへ行き、今度はタコスに恋をしました。仕事で行ったはずなのに、人生の方向まで変わってしまいました。
（恋に落ちるって、こういうことなのか！？）

気づけばお店をオープンし、9年間、スタッフやお客様に喜んでもらうことを一番に考えてきました。

DJもお店も、人が集まる場所をつくることが大好きでした。
でもまた同じように、自分以外の誰かのために、持っているものを全部注いでいました😂

そして、とうとう燃え尽きて、その時に気づいたんです。

これは音楽の問題でも、レストランの問題でもなかった。

私はずっと、誰かが喜ぶものを作って、誰かの悩みを解決して、誰かの夢を支えることに夢中になっていました。その一方で、「私は何を作りたいんだろう？」と、自分に問いかけることを、いつの間にか忘れていたんです。

Then this year came, and I decided to invest in myself.

I started learning again. I took English, Spanish, and Japanese lessons. I made a promise to exercise, no matter how busy life got. I started educating myself about money. I even took a nail salon class so I could learn to do my own nails 💅

For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t doing these things for anyone else. I was doing them for me.

And then something unexpected happened.

そして今年、自分自身に投資してみようと決めました。もう一度、「学ぶこと」「インプット」「自己改善」を始めたんです。

英語、スペイン語、日本語を勉強して、どんなに忙しくても運動だけは続けると決めました。お金の勉強も始めたし、自分でネイルを直せるようになりたくてネイルスクールにも通いました💅

お誘いも断って自分自身を優先しました。

すると、不思議なことが起き始めたんです。
