本当に器が大きくて温かい方で、今回もツッコミが神がかっていました。

みんなに愛されている理由が、改めてよく分かります。

そして実は、メキシコが大好きでとても詳しいことも知れて嬉しかったです。
私が説明するまでもなく、ご存じのことがたくさんありました🇲🇽

収録では3時間近く、ひたすらタコスについてお話ししました。

Mexico has become such a meaningful part of my life.

My journey with Mexico first began through music, when I visited as a DJ.

The people I met through music, the energy of the streets, the food culture, and most importantly, the way people connect with one another, all left a deep impression on me.

Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with Mexico. I found myself eating tacos every single day, exploring local taquerias, and wanting to understand the culture on a much deeper level.

That passion eventually led me to open my Mexican bar, Casa De Sarasa, in Shibuya, and establish the Tacos Association as a way to continue sharing Mexican food culture in Japan.

Along that journey, I discovered Código 1530.

Código 1530 is a premium tequila brand born in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico.

Made with 100% blue agave, it honors traditional methods without the use of additives, sweeteners, flavorings, coloring, or chemicals.

Unlike many tequilas aged in American whiskey barrels, Código 1530 is matured in French oak Cabernet wine barrels from Napa Valley, creating its uniquely delicate and elegant flavor.

What made me fall in love with Mexico was never just the taste.

Behind every glass and every taco, there is a story of the land, history, craftsmanship, family, and traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Tequila is the same.

It is not simply something to drink. It is a reflection of Mexico’s people, land, and culture.

That is why becoming an ambassador for Código 1530 means so much to me.

My experiences traveling the world as a DJ, everything I have learned through Casa De Sarasa, and my work with the Tacos Association.

Somehow, all of these dots connected and led me here.

Through music, food, and culture, I hope to continue sharing the beauty and spirit of Mexico with as many people as possible.

私がテキーラブランドのアンバサダーになった理由

この度、ペルノ・リカール・ジャパン株式会社が展開するプレミアムテキーラブランド「Código 1530（コディゴ 1530）」の、日本初となる公式アンバサダーに就任しました。

私の人生の中で、メキシコという国は本当に大きな存在です。

最初はDJとして訪れた場所でした。

音楽を通じて出会った人たち、街のエネルギー、食文化、そして何よりも人との繋がり方。

気づけば私はメキシコという国にどんどん惹かれていき、滞在中は毎日のようにタコスを食べ、ローカルのお店を巡り、「もっとこの文化を知りたい」と思うようになりました。

そこから渋谷でメキシカンバル「Casa De Sarasa」をオープンし、タコス協会を立ち上げ、日本でメキシコの食文化を伝える活動を続けてきました。

そんな中で出会ったのがCódigo 1530でした。

Código 1530は、メキシコ・ハリスコ州アマティタンで生まれたプレミアムテキーラブランドです。

100%ブルーアガベを使用し、添加物・甘味料・香料・着色料・化学薬品を一切使用しない、伝統的な製法を大切にしています。

また、一般的なアメリカンウイスキー樽ではなく、ナパバレー産カベルネワインのフレンチオーク樽で熟成させることで、繊細で美しい味わいを生み出しています。

私がメキシコで感じた魅力は、ただ「美味しい」だけではありません。

一杯のお酒や一枚のタコスの裏側には、土地、歴史、作り手、家族、何世代にも渡って守られてきた文化があります。

テキーラも同じ。

ただ酔うためのお酒ではなく、メキシコの土地と人が作り上げてきた文化そのものだと思っています。

だからこそ、今回Código 1530のアンバサダーとして関われることを心から嬉しく思います。

DJとして世界を旅してきた経験、Casa De Sarasaを通じて学んできたこと、タコス協会として続けてきた活動。

そのすべての点が繋がって、今回のご縁にたどり着いた気がしています。

これからも音楽、食、そしてカルチャーを通じて、メキシコの素晴らしさを少しでも多くの人に届けていきたいと思います。

I’ve started a Substack. The name may not be familiar to a lot of you yet. So in this first post, I want to tell you what Substack is, and what it offers, to those of you reading this.

So what is Substack?

Put simply, it’s a place where what I write gets delivered straight to your inbox.

Instagram matters to me too. But over there, no matter what I post, the algorithm decides whether it reaches you. I put something out, and it just drifts away.

Substack is different. If you sign up with your email address, what I write goes directly to you. No algorithm, no ads, nobody in between.

Which means this is a one-to-one space ; just you and me.

Why I made this

There are more and more things I can’t say in a few short lines.

My thoughts on DJing and making music. Stories about the incredible DJs and musicians I’ve met along the way. Food I want to share with you — tacos and tequila above all. The projects I have in mind, an

d the small things I notice in daily life, or somewhere in the middle of a trip.

None of these fit into a caption. So I wanted a place where I could actually write them out.

突然ですが、Substackを始めました。まだ皆さんには馴染みのない名前かもしれません。今回の投稿では、Substackがどんなもので、これを読んでくれている皆さんにどんな価値を届けられるのかを、お話しさせてください。

Substackって何？

ひとことで言うと、書いたものがメールで届く場所です。

Instagramも私にとっては大事な場所。でもあそこは、私が何を書いても、届くかどうかはアルゴリズムが決めているんですよね。せっかく書いても、流れていってしまう。

Substackは違います。皆さんがメールアドレスを登録してくれたら、私の書いたものは、まっすぐ受信箱に届く。アルゴリズムも、広告も、間に誰もいません。

つまりここは、私と皆さんの、一対一の場所なんです。

なぜここを作ったのか

短い言葉では伝えきれないことが、だんだん増えてきました。

DJや楽曲制作に関する自分の思い。いままでに出会ってきた素晴らしいDJやミュージシャンとのストーリー。タコスやテキーラを中心に、私がおすすめしたい食べ物のお話。いま手掛けているスキンケアブランドを、なぜ作ろうと思ったのか。日々の生活や旅の途中で気づいた、小さなこと。

どれも、数行では終わらない話です。だからこそ、ちゃんと書ける場所がほしかった。

In the early days, customers used to call the restaurant.
“Is Sarasa there?”
And if I wasn’t, sometimes they wouldn’t come.
For better or worse, back then it was very much “DJ SARASA’s taco shop.”
Years have passed since then.
Now I can be standing in my own restaurant, and most customers have no idea I’m the owner.
Honestly, it stings a little.
But I think it’s a good thing.
It means the reason people come isn’t me anymore. It’s the tacos, or the staff, or the place itself.
It might have started as one person’s dream.
But now it’s a place that many people have built together.
It stings. And I’m a little proud.

There’s one more thing we held onto.
When we opened, most people in Japan pictured Taco Bell when they heard “taco.” A big shell, packed with fillings, fast food style.
But the tacos I met in Mexico were the ones I wanted everyone to eat.
Small. Simple. Made to be eaten several at a time.
So at Casa De Sarasa, I wanted to serve exactly what had moved me over there. Same size as the real thing: 12cm.
Every time a review said “too small,” I wondered about it. Many times.
But we never changed them.
Because if we did, they would stop being the tacos that moved me in Mexico.
And now, nine years on.
Slowly but surely, people in Japan are starting to accept that this is what a taco is.
What used to require an explanation now simply lands.
Every time I see that, I’m glad we kept going.
It was hard to hold the line. But I’m glad we did.

There’s a small story behind the logo.
The Casa De Sarasa logo says “Mexican Bar.”
Nine years ago, the association between tacos and fast food in Japan was much stronger than it is now.
So I deliberately chose “Mexican Bar” instead of calling us a taco shop.
Tacos aren’t a snack. They’re something you enjoy with a drink, loudly, in good company.
Tequila or a beer, time spent with friends and family.
I wanted to pass that way of enjoying Mexico along, too.
There are plenty of specialist taco shops now, but back then we were feeling our way in the dark.
How do we communicate taco culture to people in Japan? How do we deliver the real way of enjoying it?
Traces of all that trial and error are still sitting in our logo.

Looking back, it really was crazy.
No restaurant experience. No business experience. Just a DJ who poured her savings into opening a restaurant because she wanted people in Japan to taste the real thing.
But this place stopped being only mine almost immediately.
It became a first-date meeting spot.
A place to reunite with an old friend.
A place people come to get their spirits back on a bad day.
A place for birthdays and celebrations.
And for the staff, something close to family.
At the start, it was only “I want to share tacos.”
Somewhere along the way, it became a place that connects people.
That might be the thing that makes me happiest.

Building a restaurant is possible. So is opening one.
But continuing is genuinely difficult.
There are good days and days that are a complete mess. Full houses, and days spent waiting for someone to walk in.
There was COVID. There were people problems. There were money problems.
More than once, I thought I couldn’t do it anymore.
That we’ve made it to today is thanks to the staff who worked beside me, the customers who kept the place alive, and everyone who loves Casa De Sarasa.
Courage to start matters, of course.
But the commitment to continue is harder.
Nine years in, what I’m proudest of might simply be that we’re still here.

So, if you’d like.

If you’ve read this far, I think you already understand. The tacos at Casa De Sarasa aren’t just tacos.
It started with Javier saying “you should come to Mexico.” Then months of convincing Kazu. Kentaro walking off a ship. Amigos sharing everything they knew, night after night. Three people standing frozen on a sidewalk.
All of it is in that 12cm tortilla.
But while you’re eating, feel free to forget every bit of that.
The smell of the tortilla. The heat of the salsa. Lime between your fingers. Tequila, and laughter from the next table.
What hit me when I walked out of that airport in Mexico and had my first taco — I’ve kept it here, in this restaurant.
It never quite survives the trip into words. That’s probably why I’ve kept the place running for nine years

オープン当初は、お客様からよく電話がかかってきました。
「更紗いるー？」
そして、わたしがいないと来ない。
良くも悪くも、あの頃は「DJ SARASAの店」だったんだと思います。
それから年月が経ちました。
いまでは、わたしが店にいても、わたしがオーナーだと知らないお客様のほうが多い。
正直、ちょっと悔しいです。
でも、それはきっと良いことなのだと思います。
お客様が来てくれている理由が、わたしではなく、タコスだったり、スタッフだったり、店そのものになったということだから。
最初はわたし一人の夢だったかもしれません。
でもいまは、たくさんの人がつくってくれている場所になりました。
悔しいけど、ちょっと誇らしい。

もうひとつ、貫いたことがあります。
店を始めた頃、日本でタコスといえばタコベルのイメージが強くありました。大きなシェルに具材がたっぷり入った、ファーストフードスタイル。
でも、わたしはメキシコで出会ったあのタコスを、どうしても皆んなに食べてほしかった。
小さくて、シンプルで、何個も食べるもの。
だからCasa De Sarasaでは、現地で感動したあのタコスをそのまま届けたかった。サイズも、現地と同じ12cm。
「小さい」というレビューを見るたびに、何度も悩みました。
でも、変えませんでした。
変えたら、わたしがメキシコで感動したタコスじゃなくなってしまう気がしたから。
そして9年経ったいま。
少しずつですが、日本でも「タコスはこういう食べ物なんだ」と受け入れられるようになってきました。
昔は説明しなければ伝わらなかったことが、いまは自然と伝わる。
それを見るたびに、続けてきて良かったと思います。
貫くのは大変だった。でも、貫いて良かった。

ひとつ、裏話があります。
Casa De Sarasaのロゴには、”Mexican Bar” と書かれています。
9年前、日本では「タコス＝ファーストフード」というイメージが、いまよりずっと強くありました。
だからわたしは、あえて「タコス屋」ではなく「メキシカンバル」という肩書きを選んだのです。
タコスは軽食ではない。お酒と一緒に、ワイワイ楽しむもの。
テキーラやビールを飲みながら、友人や家族と時間を過ごすもの。
そんなメキシコの楽しみ方も、一緒に伝えたかった。
いまでこそタコス専門店も増えましたが、当時は手探りでした。
どうしたら日本の人たちにタコス文化を伝えられるだろう。どうしたら本場の楽しみ方を届けられるだろう。
そんな試行錯誤の跡が、実はいまだにロゴに残っています。

いま振り返ると、本当にクレイジーだったと思います。
飲食経験もない。経営経験もない。ただのDJだったわたしが、自分の貯金を注ぎ込んで、日本の人たちに本場のタコスを伝えたいと思って、レストランを始めた。
でもこの場所は、すぐにわたしだけのものではなくなっていきました。
初デートの待ち合わせ場所になったり。
久しぶりの友達との再会の場所になったり。
落ち込んだ日に、元気をもらいに来る場所になったり。
誕生日やお祝いの日を過ごす場所になったり。
そしてスタッフにとっては、家族のような存在になったり。
最初は「タコスを伝えたい」だけでした。
でもいつの間にか、人と人をつなぐ場所になっていた。
それが、一番嬉しいことかもしれません。

店をつくることはできる。オープンすることもできる。
でも、続けることは本当に難しい。
うまくいく日もあれば、全然ダメな日もある。満席の日もあれば、お客様を待ち続ける日もある。
コロナもあった。人の問題もあった。お金の問題もあった。
何度も「もう無理かもしれない」と思いました。
それでも今日まで続けてこられたのは、一緒に頑張ってくれたスタッフ、店を支えてくれたお客様、そしてCasa De Sarasaを好きでいてくれる皆さんのおかげです。
始める勇気は、もちろん大切です。
でも、続ける覚悟のほうが難しい。
9年経ったいま、一番誇れるのは、続けてこられたことかもしれません。

だから、もしよければ。
一度、食べに来てほしいです。
ここまで読んでくださった方には、もう分かってもらえていると思います。Casa De Sarasaのタコスは、ただのタコスではありません。
ハビエルの「メキシコ来なよ」から始まって、Kazuさんを口説いた何ヶ月があって、Kentaroが船を降りて、アミーゴたちが夜な夜な知識を分けてくれて、寒空の下で3人が立ち尽くした日があって——その全部が、あの12cmの一枚に入っています。
でも、そんな話は食べているあいだ、ぜんぶ忘れてもらって構いません。
トルティーヤの香り。サルサの辛さ。ライムを絞る手。テキーラと、隣の席の笑い声。
わたしがメキシコの空港を出て、最初の一枚に殴られたときと同じものを、この店に置いています。
言葉ではどうしても伝わりきらないから、9年間ずっと店をやっているのだと思います。

May 2017. Opening day finally arrived.
Honestly, my biggest fear was that nobody would show up.
I didn’t need to worry.
From the moment we opened the doors, the place filled with people.

For someone with zero restaurant experience, someone who had only ever DJed, the sight was thrilling and terrifying at the same time.
Wait — we’re supposed to handle all of this?
That was genuinely how I felt.
Orders kept coming. Dishes kept piling up. The phone wouldn’t stop ringing.
Before I knew it, the reality in front of me looked nothing like the restaurant I had imagined.
And at the same time, I thought:
I’ve stepped into an industry with no way back.

But then people ate the tacos, and they smiled.
“This is delicious.”
Every time I heard those words, it saved me.
Strangely, the feeling was almost identical to producing DJ events.
Months of preparation for a single moment.
Giving everything you have so that the people who showed up can enjoy themselves.
Different form, same work. Maybe it was the same thing all along.
That was the day I first thought: I’m glad we built this place.

This next part happened a few years later.
It was the beginning of COVID. Nobody really understood what was happening yet.
The streets got quieter, and customers stopped coming.
Business dried up, and it was just us inside the restaurant. More and more time spent simply waiting.
And I thought:
We can’t just wait. We have to do something.
So we cut tacos into small samples, and Kazu, Kentaro, and I went and stood outside.

“Would you like to try a taco?”
We stood in the cold, calling out to people walking past.
But nobody worried about infection was going to stop.
People who walked by without meeting our eyes. People who declined. People who ignored us.
At some point I felt like the Little Match Girl standing out there.
The tacos that had changed my life in Mexico.
The tacos we genuinely believed were delicious.
And nobody would take one.
That reality hurt more than I expected.

But the hardest part was something else.
Kazu, who had moved from Osaka because he believed in me. Kentaro, who had quit his job on the ships to jump in.
I couldn’t find the words to say to those two.
It’s going to be okay.
I wanted to say it. But at that moment, I honestly didn’t know whether it would be.
We just stood there in the cold, the three of us.
I still remember almost crying.

2017年5月。ついに、オープンの日が来ました。
正直に言うと、お客様が来なかったらどうしよう、と思っていました。
でも、その心配は必要ありませんでした。
開けた瞬間から、店はたくさんのお客様でいっぱいになったのです。

飲食店の経験ゼロ。DJしかやってこなかったわたしにとって、その光景は嬉しい反面、恐怖でもありました。
「え、これ全部対応するの？」
正直、そんな気持ちでした。
次から次へと入ってくる注文。終わらない洗い物。鳴り続ける電話。
気づけば、想像していたレストランとはまるで違う現実が、目の前にありました。
そして同時に思いました。
後戻りできない業界に、足を踏み入れてしまった、と。

でも、お客様がタコスを食べて、笑顔になってくれました。
「美味しい」
その一言を聞くたびに、救われました。
不思議なことに、その感覚はDJイベントをつくっていた頃と、よく似ていました。
準備に何ヶ月もかけて、本番は一瞬。
来てくれた人が楽しそうにしている姿を見るために、全力を尽くす。
形は違っても、やっていることは同じだったのかもしれません。
その日、わたしは初めて「この店をつくって良かった」と思いました。

それから数年後の話です。
コロナが広がり始めた頃。まだ何が起きているのか、誰にもよく分かっていない時期でした。
なんとなく人通りが減り始め、お客様の足も遠のいていきました。
集客は途絶え、店内にはわたしたちだけ。ただお客様を待つ時間が、増えていきました。
その時、思いました。
待っているだけじゃダメだ。もっと能動的にならないと。
そこでタコスを小さく切って試食をつくり、Kazuさん、Kentaro、そしてわたしの3人で、外に立ちました。

「タコスいかがですか？」
寒空の下、道ゆく人たちに声をかけ続けました。
でも、感染を気にする人々は立ち止まりませんでした。
目も合わせずに通り過ぎていく人。断られる人。無視される人。
気づけばわたしは、まるでマッチ売りの少女のような気持ちになっていました。
メキシコで、人生を変えるほど感動したタコス。
自分たちが本気で美味しいと信じているタコス。
なのに、誰も受け取ってくれない。
その現実は、想像以上に堪えました。

そして何より辛かったのは、別のことでした。
自分を信じて大阪から来てくれたKazuさん。船乗りの仕事を辞めて飛び込んできてくれたKentaro。
そのふたりに、かける言葉が見つからなかったこと。
「大丈夫だから」
そう言いたかった。でもその時のわたしは、本当に大丈夫なのか、分かりませんでした。
ただ寒さの中で、3人で立ち尽くしました。
泣きそうになったことを、いまでも覚えています。

In 2017, we finally found the space.
Once I'd decided to build the restaurant, I knew I had to learn from the source.
So I went back to Mexico. This time, with Kentaro.
I leaned on the friends I'd made through DJ tours.
A chef who ran a taco shop, who I'd first met in the crowd at one of my events.
A fellow DJ who owned restaurants. Cooks.
Here was this person from Japan saying she wanted to bring Mexican food home, and they welcomed me warmly and shared their knowledge and connections without holding anything back.
That's the thing about Mexicans. They're the best.

How to think about food. And the pride they carry for tacos.
Things you cannot learn from books or the internet, taught to me directly, on site.
They even showed me how to break down a goat hanging from a hook. Not something you get to experience in Japan.
Looking back, I think I learned the spirit more than the technique.

At night, the recipe sessions began.
I wanted to bring that feeling home to everyone in Japan. That was the whole drive behind those late-night experiments.
Make a salsa, taste it. Make a taco, taco’bout it.
Before we knew it, it was the middle of the night.
What I'm most grateful for is that the amigos shared everything they knew.
Recipes, you can find anywhere these days.
But culture and ways of thinking only travel from person to person.
Which is why, even now, I think those late-night conversations are the most valuable thing I came away with.

They accepted a foreigner as one of their own, and they cheered me on.
I wanted to live up to that.
Failure was not an option.
I still remember thinking exactly that.
Behind the flavor of Casa De Sarasa is all that time spent with all those amigos.

2017年、ついに物件が見つかりました。
店をつくると決めたからには、本場で学びたい。
そう思って、わたしはもう一度メキシコへ向かいました。今度は、Kentaroくんを連れて。
頼りにしたのは、DJツアーを通じて知り合った仲間たちです。
イベントのお客さんの中にいた、タコス屋を営むシェフ。レストランオーナーをしていたDJ仲間。料理人たち。
日本でメキシコ料理を伝えたいと語るわたしを、彼らは温かく迎え入れ、惜しみなく知識とコネクションを分けてくれました。
そういうところ、メキシコ人は本当に最高です。

現地で教わったのは、タコスのつくり方だけではありませんでした。
なぜ、そのつくり方をするのか。
なぜ、その土地でそのタコスが生まれたのか。
食に対する考え方。そして、タコスに対する誇り。
本やインターネットでは学べないことを、現場で直接教えてもらいました。
吊るされたヤギを解体するやり方を教わったりもしました。日本ではなかなか経験できないことです。
いま思えば、技術以上に、精神を学ばせてもらった気がします。

夜になると、レシピ開発が始まります。
感動した味を、日本のみんなに届けたい。その一心で、夜な夜な実験を繰り返しました。
サルサをつくっては味見。タコスをつくっては議論。
気づけば深夜。
本当にありがたかったのは、アミーゴたちが惜しみなく知識を共有してくれたことです。
レシピだけなら、手に入る時代です。
でも、文化や考え方は、人から人へしか伝わらない。
だからいまでも、あの夜な夜なの会話が、一番の財産だと思っています。

異国から来たわたしを、彼らは仲間として受け入れ、応援してくれました。
その期待に応えたい。
絶対に失敗できない。
そう強く思ったことを、いまでも覚えています。
Casa De Sarasaの味の裏側には、たくさんのアミーゴたちとの時間が詰まっています。

But loving something isn’t enough to build a restaurant.

At the end of the day, I was just a DJ. Zero restaurant experience. Nothing that proved I could pull this off.

Still, I started looking for a location and putting the pieces together one by one.

And there was one thing I absolutely needed.

A chef who could make truly great tacos.

As it happened, I’d already met someone before my Mexico trip, during a DJ tour in Japan. A taco chef named Kazu. A mutual friend, Rody, offered to introduce us.

I want to build a restaurant with this person.

Once I thought that, I spent months trying to convince him.

His first answers were vague. Of course they were. Here was a DJ with no restaurant experience asking a man living in Osaka to move to Tokyo and open a place together.

But I didn’t give up.

I wrote a business plan. I searched for a location. Little by little, I tried to give my seriousness a shape.

I wanted him to be able to think that its a real offer.

And eventually, Kazu moved from Osaka to Tokyo, and together we started what became Casa De Sarasa.

Looking back, the hardest part wasn’t finding a location or raising money. It may have been convincing people to believe.

Through all of that preparation, my actual job was still DJing. Weekends meant flying around Japan, busy as ever.

One day, at a gig in the Kansai area, a familiar face turned up.

Kentaro, who always came to my events and always bought my merch.

Between sets, I mentioned it almost casually.

“I’m thinking about opening a taco shop, actually. Looking for staff.”

He was interested right there on the spot.

And then, to my surprise — not long after, he quit his job working on ships and jumped headfirst into launching Casa De Sarasa.

Looking back, that was a pretty bold move.

Kentaro is a quiet person by nature.

But he’s always surrounded by friends, and whenever he opens his mouth, something memorable comes out. He has a strange kind of magnetism.

He sees things from angles nobody else does, and being around him meant constantly discovering something new.

And so the three of us came together.

A DJ with no restaurant experience. A chef who’d come from Osaka. And a man who had just stepped off a ship.

Thinking about it now, it was a reckless team.

But without those three people, Casa De Sarasa wouldn’t exist. That much I’m sure of.

メキシコから帰国したわたしは、タコス屋をやると決めました。
でも、好きというだけで店はつくれません。
そもそも、わたしはただのDJです。飲食の経験はゼロ。何かを証明できるような実績があったわけでもない。
それでも物件を探し、ひとつずつ準備を進めていきました。
そして、どうしても必要だったものがあります。
本当に美味しいタコスをつくれるシェフ。

実は、メキシコへ行く前のDJの全国ツアーで、すでに出会っていた人がいました。タコスシェフのKazuさん。友人のRodyさんが、あいだをつないでくれることになったのです。
この人と店をやりたい。
そう思ってから、わたしは何ヶ月も口説き続けました。
最初の返事は、とても曖昧なものでした。当然だと思います。飲食未経験のDJが、大阪に住む彼に「東京に来て一緒に店をやってほしい」と言っているのですから。
それでも諦めませんでした。
事業計画をつくり、物件を探し、本気であることを少しずつ形にしていきました。
「この人なら大丈夫かもしれない」
そう思ってもらえるように。
そしてついに、Kazuさんは大阪から東京へ引っ越し、一緒にCasa De Sarasaを始めることになったのです。
いま振り返ると、一番大変だったのは物件探しでも資金集めでもなく、人を口説くことだったかもしれません。

準備を進めていたあいだも、わたしの本業はDJです。週末は全国を飛び回る、忙しい日々が続いていました。
ある日、関西でのDJイベントでのこと。
いつもわたしのグッズを買ってくれていた、Kentaroくんが遊びに来てくれました。
イベントの合間に、なんとなく話しました。
「実はタコス屋を始めようと思っていて、スタッフを探しているんだよね」
彼はその場で、興味を持ってくれました。
そして驚くことに、それからほどなくして——船乗りの仕事を辞め、Casa De Sarasaの立ち上げに飛び込んできたのです。
いま思うと、なかなか思い切った決断だったと思います。

Kentaroくんは、普段は静かな性格です。
でもいつも友達に囲まれていて、口を開けば必ず面白いことを言う。不思議な魅力を持った人です。
独特の視点と発想力があって、一緒にいると新しい発見がたくさんありました。

こうして、3人が揃いました。
飲食未経験のDJと、大阪から来たシェフと、船を降りたばかりの男。
いま考えれば、ずいぶん無謀なチームです。
でも、この3人でなければCasa De Sarasaは生まれていなかった。それだけは確かです。

Back in 2015, when I was touring Japan as a DJ, one of the people who I met at my gig was a tattoo artist named Javier.

After a brief introduction from a friend, he said

“You should come to Mexico.”

Looking back, that one line started everything.

A few months later, he helped me put together a DJ tour there, and I set foot in Mexico for the first time.

Then I had my first taco.

It was a shock.

It was so good that I found myself questioning every taco I had ever eaten. The tortilla. The salsa. The meat. The lime. Every single element blew my mind.

For the next three weeks, I ate nothing else. Breakfast tacos. Lunch tacos. Dinner tacos. Late-night tacos after the gigs.

That one taco may have changed the course of my life.

I actually believe that now. Somewhere in the middle of eating all those tacos, I fell completely in love with Mexico.

And from there, things got a little strange.

It started as “going to Mexico for DJ work.” Before long, it had flipped: I was booking DJ gigs in Mexico so I could eat more tacos.

The order was backwards. I knew it.

I set up regular events four times a year, and every trip meant eating my way through morning, noon, and night.

Every time I flew home to Japan, I’d come down with a serious taco deficiency. And then I’d want to go back.

I knew this wasn’t normal behavior.

But I couldn’t help it.

My body had decided it couldn’t survive without a taco recharge.

わたしがDJとして全国を回っていた2015年、イベントに来てくれていたお客さんの中に、ハビエルというタトゥーアーティストがいました。

彼はある日、なんでもないことのように言いました。

「メキシコ来なよ」

いま思えば、あの一言がすべての始まりでした。

数ヶ月後、彼が現地でDJツアーを組んでくれて、わたしは初めてメキシコの地を踏むことになります。

空港を出て、最初に食べたタコス。

衝撃でした。

これまで自分が食べてきたものは、いったい何だったんだろう。そう思うくらいに美味しかった。トルティーヤ、サルサ、肉、ライム。そのすべてに、ぶったまげました。

それからの3週間、わたしはタコスしか食べていません。朝も昼も夜も、DJが終わったあとの夜食も、ぜんぶタコス。

あの一枚が、人生を変えたのかもしれない。

いまでは本気でそう思っています。タコスを食べながら、わたしはメキシコという文化に、どっぷりはまっていきました。

そこから先が、少しおかしくなっていきます。

最初は「DJの仕事でメキシコへ行く」だったはずが、気づけば「タコスを食べるために、メキシコでDJの仕事を入れる」ようになっていました。

順番が逆です。自分でもわかっていました。

すぐに年4回のレギュラーイベントを組み、行くたびに朝・昼・晩とタコスを食べ歩く日々。

日本に帰ってくると、タコス不足になる。そしてまたメキシコへ行きたくなる。

これが普通ではないことは、自分でもちゃんとわかっていました。

でも、どうしようもなかった。

タコスをチャージしないと、生きていけない身体になってしまったから。

As DJs, we spend so much time learning how to play music, but I think understanding and taking care of our own equipment is also part of the craft.

One of the most common problems with turntables is when sound only comes out from one side (left or right channel).

Before sending it off for repair, here are a few things you can check:

① Replace your needle
② Clean the headshell connector with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol
③ Try plugging the RCA cables into another channel on your mixer, or test with a different mixer

➡️ If none of those solve the problem, there is a good chance the RCA cable itself needs to be replaced.

This issue happens often, especially for DJs who travel with turntables, move equipment around, or constantly plug and unplug cables.

Sending your turntable away for repair can take weeks, and sometimes the fix is actually something you can learn to do yourself.

I’ve been repairing and maintaining my own turntables for years. There’s something special about understanding the tools you use every day.

Recently, one of the turntables at my restaurant broke, so I used the opportunity to teach my friend how to fix it.

This video was originally just me casually teaching her, so it’s not a perfect tutorial. It’s just a real moment of passing down something I learned through years of DJing.

DJのみなさーん、実はターンテーブルは自分で直せることもあります🔧❣️

DJって音楽をかける技術だけではなく、自分が使う機材を理解して、大切にメンテナンスすることも大事なスキルのひとつだと思っています。

ターンテーブルでよくあるトラブルのひとつが、

「片方のチャンネルからしか音が出ない」

という現象。

修理に出す前に、まず試してほしいこと👇

① 針を交換してみる
② 綿棒と無水エタノールでヘッドシェルの接続部分を掃除してみる
③ RCAケーブルを別のチャンネルに差してみる、もしくは違うミキサーで確認してみる

➡️ それでも直らなければ、RCAケーブル自体が原因の可能性があります。

ターンテーブルを移動したり、現場で何度もケーブルを抜き差しする私たちDJには、実はよくあるトラブル。

でも修理に出すと何週間も戻ってこなくて困ることもありますよね。

だからこそ、自分の道具を自分で理解して直せるようになることも、DJとして大切だと思っています。

私は長年、自分のターンテーブルは自分でメンテナンスしてきました☝️

最近お店のターンテーブルが壊れたので、せっかくなので 友達に直し方を伝授。

ヒップホップ好きのみんなにシェアしたくなりました。

これは昔、Talib Kweliと一緒にポルトガルのフェスに行った時の映像。

なかなかいいでしょ？✈️🎧🇵🇹

Razor clams are long, narrow shellfish that live buried vertically under the sand. Unlike regular clam digging, finding them requires a very unique technique.

First, you search for tiny holes in the sand.

Then you sprinkle a little salt into the hole.

And then…

A few seconds later, the razor clam suddenly pops out like,

“Wait… what’s happening?!”

That’s your moment.

Grab it before it disappears back into the sand.

Probably one of the most satisfying things I’ve done in my life! We got about 2kg of clams in 1.5 hours.

この前、マテ貝の潮干狩りに行ってきました。

マテ貝（razor clam）は、細長い形をした二枚貝で、砂浜の中に縦に潜って暮らしています。

普通の貝みたいにただ砂を掘って探すのではなく、マテ貝には少し変わった捕まえ方があります。

まず砂浜に小さな穴を見つける。

そこに塩を少し入れる。

すると…

数秒後、マテ貝が「何が起きた!?」という感じで砂の中から顔を出します。

その瞬間を逃さずキャッチ。

世界中を旅していて思うのは、その土地の文化を知る一番早い方法は「食」を追いかけること

高級な料理だけじゃなくて、こういう昔から続いている小さな知恵の中にこそ、人と自然の関係が詰まっている気がします。

ただの潮干狩りだと思って行ったら、小さな砂浜でまた一つ新しい世界を発見しました。

A New Chapter Begins

I still can’t believe I’m writing this…

I officially received my U.S. Artist Visa.

For those who don’t know, this visa isn’t just a piece of paper. It represents years of work, proof, and a story you have built through your craft.

When I first started DJing, I never imagined it would take me around the world. I never imagined that the countless nights carrying equipment, playing small rooms, connecting with strangers through music, and choosing this path over and over again would one day become my foundation.

It feels like permission to enter a new chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, booked me, danced with me, believed in me, and reminded me that every small step mattered.

When I booked my trip to Mongolia, I thought I knew what June meant.

Summer.
Warm weather.
Easy packing.

I was wrong.

Mongolia quickly reminded me that seasons don’t follow the same rules everywhere. My friend Masia One and I were humbled!

Sometimes the best journeys are the ones you are completely unprepared for.

6月のモンゴル。こんなに寒いなんて聞いてない!

モンゴルに行くと決めた時、完全に油断していました。

だって6月だし、頭の中ではもう夏。

暖かい日差し、軽い服装、気持ちいい草原の風。

…のはずだった。

でもモンゴルに着いてすぐに思い知らされました。

「季節」は世界共通じゃない。

準備万端の旅もいいけど、予想外の出来事がある旅ほど、記憶に残るのかもしれない。合流したMasia Oneも旅慣れているはずなのに、同じように水着を持ってきてました。

モンゴル、完全に甘く見てました。

But I learned they’re much more than accessories.

In Mongolian culture, the hat (malgai) carries deep meaning. The head is traditionally seen as one of the most sacred parts of the body, connected to a person’s spirit, dignity, and energy.

In Mongolian culture, especially influenced by traditional nomadic customs and Buddhist beliefs, the head is considered the highest and most respected part of the body. Many people believe a person’s spirit, fortune, or life energy is connected to the head, which is one reason hats are treated with respect.

You don’t casually touch someone’s hat, throw it on the ground, or step over it. A hat is not just clothing. It protects the most sacred part of you.

帽子を探しているなら…モンゴルは最高の場所🇲🇳

でも、ここで知ったのは、帽子はただのファッションアイテムではないということ。

モンゴル文化において、帽子（マルガイ malgai）には深い意味があります。

伝統的な遊牧文化や仏教の影響もあり、頭は人間の体の中で最も高く、神聖で大切な部分と考えられてきました。

人の精神、尊厳、運、そして生命のエネルギーが宿る場所とも信じられていて、だからこそ頭を守る帽子も特別な存在として扱われています。

帽子を床に投げたり、踏み越えたり、人の帽子をむやみに触ったりしない。

帽子はただ頭を覆うものではなく、その人の大切なものを守る存在。

モンゴルの帽子には、一つひとつに文化と歴史が込められていました。

This might sound strange coming from someone who has been a DJ for so long…

But I avoided making my own music for the longest time.

My whole career has been built around music.

Finding songs.
Connecting sounds.
Understanding what moves people.
Creating moments on dance floors around the world.

As DJs, our job is to bring other people’s music to life.

And honestly, I loved that.

I loved discovering artists, telling stories through their songs, and creating an experience where people could feel something.

So for a long time, I never questioned it.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something.

I had spent years expressing myself through other people’s creations…

but I never gave myself permission to ask:

“What do I want to create?”

Maybe I was scared.

Maybe I thought the music world was already filled with so many talented artists, and there wasn’t space for one more.

Maybe it was easier to support someone else’s vision than to face my own.

But the feeling never disappeared.

So I decided to finally start.

Not because I suddenly have all the answers.

Not because I know exactly what I’m doing.

But because I want to know what happens when I stop avoiding the thing that has been quietly calling me.

I’m documenting this journey from zero.

The mistakes.
The learning.
The uncomfortable moments.
The small wins.

Everything.

Because creating something new isn’t only about the final result.

It’s about becoming the person who was brave enough to begin.

音楽を作ることから逃げてきたDJ

20年近くDJをしている人間が言うと、不思議に聞こえるかもしれません。

でも私は、ずっと自分の音楽を作ることを避けてきました。

私の人生は、ずっと音楽と共にありました。

曲を探すこと。
音と音を繋げること。
人の心が動く瞬間を感じること。
世界中のダンスフロアで特別な時間を作ること。

DJという仕事は、誰かが作った音楽に新しい命を吹き込む仕事でもあります。

そして私は、本当にその仕事が大好きでした。

素晴らしいアーティストを発見して、
その人たちの音楽を通して物語を伝えて、
そこにいる人たちと感情を共有する。

だから長い間、疑問に思うことはありませんでした。

でも、ある時ふと思いました。

私はずっと誰かの作品を通して自分を表現してきたけれど……

「自分自身は何を作りたいんだろう？」

という質問を、自分にしてこなかったことに。

もしかしたら怖かったのかもしれません。

世の中にはすでに才能のあるアーティストがたくさんいて、今さら自分が入る場所なんてないと思っていたのかもしれません。

自分の作品と向き合うより、誰かの夢やビジョンをサポートする方が安心だったのかもしれません。

でも、その気持ちは消えませんでした。

だから、やっと始めることにしました。

全部分かっているからではありません。

自信満々だからでもありません。

ただ、ずっと心のどこかにあった「やってみたい」という気持ちから、もう逃げるのをやめたいと思ったから。

ここから、その過程を記録していきます。

ゼロから音楽を作る旅。

失敗も。
学びも。
恥ずかしい瞬間も。
小さな成長も。

全部。

何かを作るということは、完成した作品だけの話ではないと思います。

それを作れる自分になっていく過程そのものにも意味がある。

自分がスキンケアラインを作るなんて、以前の私は想像もしていませんでした。

美容アイテムを何時間も調べたり、話題の成分を試したり、複雑なルーティンを続けたりするタイプではなかったからです。

ほとんどの場合、スキンケアはいつも後回しでした。

私の毎日は、いつもたくさんのことで埋まっています。

国から国へ移動して、
DJとして深夜まで仕事をして、
レストランを経営して、
新しいプロジェクトを立ち上げて、
人と出会って、
何かを作って、
そしてまた次へ向かう。

時差を越えて移動し、スーツケースひとつで生活しながら、次々と起こることに対応していると、何かを毎日続けることは簡単ではありません。

そして、自分をケアすることは、真っ先に消えてしまいがちです。

私にとって、多くのスキンケアは少し複雑に感じられました。

次から次へと出てくる商品。
数えきれないほどの成分。
自分に何が合うのかを理解するために費やす、終わりのない時間。

私が求めていたのは、12ステップのルーティンではありませんでした。

もっとシンプルで、肌をきちんと潤し、日常の中で無理なく使えるもの。

自分の生活に負担を増やすのではなく、自然に馴染んでくれるもの。

飛行機に乗る前でも、
長い夜のあとでも、
旅先のホテルでも、
打ち合わせと打ち合わせの合間でも、

短い時間で使えるもの。

自然で、簡単で、それでもきちんと違いを実感できるものが欲しかった。

クリエイティブな仕事をする人。
自分の考えを持って生きる人。
頻繁に旅をする人。
何かをゼロから作っている人。
周りのことを優先するあまり、自分のことをいつも最後にしてしまう人。

すべての人が、私と同じ暮らしをしているわけではありません。

でも、忙しさの中で自分のことを忘れてしまう感覚は、きっと多くの人が知っていると思います。

私は昔から、欲しいものが存在しなければ、自分で作ってみようとするタイプでした。

だから、自分で作ってみようと思いました。

現実の生活のためのスキンケアを。

毎日無理なく使えるほどシンプルで、
きちんと違いを感じられるほど肌を満たし、
人生のどこへでも持っていけるほどコンパクトなものを。

ウェルネスは、やることリストに追加される新しいタスクである必要はないと思うから。

あなたが疲れていても、肌まで疲れなくていいんじゃないかな？

I was never the type of person who was obsessed with skincare.

Not because I didn’t care about my skin.

But because my life was always moving.

Traveling from country to country.
DJing late nights.
Running a restaurant.
Building projects.
Meeting people.
Creating.

There was always something happening.

I never had the time or patience to try hundreds of different products, compare ingredients, or spend hours on a complicated skincare routine.

I just wanted something simple.

Something natural.
Something I could trust.
Something that would keep my skin hydrated and nourished, no matter how busy I got or where in the world I was.

I wanted to spend less time worrying about skincare and more time actually living.

Something I could use quickly before a flight.
After a long night.
In a hotel room.
Between meetings.

Easy. Fast. Effective.

But I still wanted to feel the difference.

That’s when I realized…

Maybe there are many people like me.

People who care about taking care of themselves, but don’t have the time to make skincare their whole lifestyle.

So I decided to create skincare for those people.

Not skincare made for people who have time for skincare.

Skincare made for people who are busy living.

正直に言うと……

私は昔から「美容オタク」タイプではありませんでした。

肌を大切にしたくなかったわけではありません。

ただ、いつもやることが多すぎて、自分の肌のことはいつも最後に考えていました。

国から国へ移動して、
夜遅くまでDJをして、
レストランを経営して、
新しいプロジェクトを進めて、
人と出会って、
次の予定に向かう。

毎日が動き続けていて、スキンケアに時間をかける余裕はほとんどありませんでした。

何種類もの商品を試したり、成分を比較したり、自分に合うものを探し続けたりするのも、正直なところ面倒に感じていました。

私が欲しかったのは、もっとシンプルなもの。

自然で、信頼できて、どれだけ忙しくても、世界のどこにいても、肌を潤して整えてくれるもの。

短い時間で使えて、難しくなくて、それでもちゃんと違いを感じられるもの。

飛行機に乗る前。
長い一日が終わった後。
旅先のホテルで。
仕事と仕事の合間に。

そんな時でも、無理なく続けられるものが欲しかった。

そこで気づきました。

きっと、私と同じように、自分のことをいつも後回しにしてしまう人はたくさんいるんじゃないかと！

自分を大切にしたい気持ちはある。

でも、美容を生活の中心にする時間はない。

だから私は、そんな人たちのためのスキンケアを作りたいと思いました。

美容に時間をかけられる人だけのためではなく、

自分の肌をいつも最後に考えてしまうほど、毎日を一生懸命生きている人のためのスキンケアを。

Something happened.

I had filled one of my precious sample bottles with lotion and planned to carry it onto the plane so I could test it while traveling.

But during my layover in Korea, I was stopped at security.

The problem was the bottle size.

Even though there was barely any product left inside, the container itself was labeled as 120g, which was over the carry-on limit.

I tried everything.

I explained that it was an important prototype.
I told them there was hardly anything inside.
I argued for so long that I almost missed my flight.

But nothing worked.

The bottle was confiscated.

I was honestly devastated.

But after I calmed down, I realized that maybe this happened for a reason.

This skincare line is meant for busy people.
People who travel often.
People who are constantly moving for work.
People who do not have much time for skincare but still want to take care of themselves.

So of course, the bottle should be designed with travel in mind.

That experience made me realize that the packaging should stay within the 100g carry-on limit.

I was still angry that my sample bottle was taken away, but in the end, it gave me an important piece of inspiration.

So I decided to go back and reconsider the bottle selection.

Maybe creating something from zero also means learning from the moments that go completely wrong.

事件が起きました。

大切な試作ボトルに化粧水を入れて、「旅先でも使えるかな？」と思いながら手荷物で飛行機に乗ろうとした時のこと。

韓国で乗り換えをする際、セキュリティチェックで止められてしまいました。

理由は、ボトルの容量。

中身はほとんど入っていなかったのですが、容器自体が120gサイズだったため、機内持ち込みの規定を超えているとのこと。

「これはまだ発売前の大切な試作品なんです」
「中身は本当に少ししか入っていないんです」

と必死に説明して、飛行機に乗り遅れそうになるくらい交渉しましたが……

結果、没収。

正直、すごくショックでした。

でも、時間が経って冷静に考えてみると、これは必要な出来事だったのかもしれません。

私が作りたいのは、毎日美容にたくさん時間をかけられる人だけのためのスキンケアではありません。

仕事で飛び回っている人。
旅が多い人。
忙しい毎日の中でも、自分を大切にしたい人。

そんな人たちの生活に寄り添うものを作りたい。

だったら、飛行機に乗る時のことまで考えるべきだった。

作り手である私自身が経験したからこそ気付けたことでした。

悔しかったけど、この出来事が大きなヒントになり、もう一度ボトル選びから見直すことにしました。

失敗も、遠回りも、全部ものづくりの一部。

ゼロから作るって、こういうことなんだと思います。
